Tucker Smith

Tucker Smith is a research economist in the regional group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He joined the Dallas Fed in 2024 after earning a BS in mathematics-economics from Furman University and a PhD in economics from Vanderbilt University.

Smith’s research interests include education, labor, public and urban economics. He currently studies issues influencing the economic mobility of vulnerable populations. His other work examines equity and efficiency in public good provision.
