Dallas Fed appoints Rebecca Zarutskie as senior vice president and senior research advisor

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Rebecca Zarutskie as senior vice president and senior research advisor, effective Aug. 26.

In her position, Zarutskie will advise Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan on monetary policy issues and advance the research department’s role as a thought leader on various topics.

Zarutskie will join the Dallas Fed from the Federal Reserve Board of Governor’s Division of Monetary Affairs, where she serves as a deputy associate director and as special advisor to Governor Michelle Bowman.

She joined the Board of Governors as a senior economist in 2012 and has served in leadership roles since 2015.  She previously taught courses in finance and economics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Duke University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Zarutskie holds a PhD in economics from MIT and a BA in economics, and applied mathematics and statistics from the Johns Hopkins University.

The Dallas Fed serves the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico.
