Dallas Fed appoints Paula Gold-Williams to San Antonio Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Paula Gold-Williams of San Antonio to the Bank’s San Antonio Branch board of directors for a three-year term ending December 2020.

In her role as a board member, Gold-Williams will provide input into regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

Gold-Williams is president and CEO of CPS Energy. She has more than 30 years of leadership experience in San Antonio, including as regional controller for Time Warner’s cable and telephone regional office and vice president of finance for Luby’s, Inc. Gold-Williams served in positions of increasing responsibility at CPS Energy before taking the helm as interim CEO in 2015 and becoming permanent CEO in 2016.

In addition to her role at CPS Energy, Paula serves as a chair and executive board member of  San Antonio public television station KLRN, chair of the Advisory Committee of Executives for St. Mary’s University’s Greehey School of Business, Industry CEO leader for Denton’s Smart City Initiative, co-chair of the Keystone Policy Board, board member of the University of the Incarnate Word, board member and executive committee member of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, board member and treasurer of EPIcenter, CEO member of the Mayor’s Business Leaders Committee and Mayor’s Airport Evaluation Committee.

Gold-Williams is a member of the Large Public Power Council, Texas Public Power Association and San Antonio Medical Foundation, advisory committee member of the University of Texas at San Antonio School of Engineering and 2018 chair-elect of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

In 2017, Paula was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame, honored by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as Corporate Executive of the Year and named Financial Executive of the Year by Financial Executives International. 

She also has been honored with numerous awards, including the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2016 Elite Executive CEO Distinction, as part of its C-Suite Awards, and the San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce 2015 Constellation of Stars Award. She was appointed Honorary Joint Base San Antonio Commander in 2014 and received Best CFO and Finance awards from the San Antonio Business Journal and La Prensa, respectively.

Gold-Williams has an associate’s degree in fine arts from San Antonio College. She has a BBA in accounting from St. Mary’s University, and MBA in finance and accounting from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and is a certified public accountant.

The San Antonio Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
