John Alexander

John Alexander is an assistant vice president in Banking Supervision at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He oversees a group of examiners and directors who are responsible for supervising community banking organizations in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District.
Alexander joined the Dallas Fed in 2001 and earned his examiner commission in 2003. He left the Dallas Fed in 2006 to attend law school and, after graduating, practiced law primarily in the fields of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He returned to the Dallas Fed in 2013 as a field examiner, was promoted to director of examinations in 2016 and then to assistant vice president in 2025.
He holds a BBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a JD from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He is also an alumnus of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
