Estrada Elected to
Dallas Fed Board
DALLAS—Robert A. Estrada
has been elected by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’
member banks to the Dallas Fed’s board of directors.
He will serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2007.
He is chairman, president and
chief executive officer of Estrada Hinojosa & Company,
Inc., a Dallas-based investment banking firm he founded
in 1990. Estrada Hinojosa also has offices in Houston,
San Antonio, Miami and San Diego.
Estrada serves on the University
of Texas System board of regents and is an executive
committee member of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce
board of directors. In 1989, Hispanic Business magazine
named Estrada among the 100 most influential Hispanics
in America.
Estrada served as special assistant
to former President George H.W. Bush and as state director
for the late U.S. Sen. John Tower. He is past chairman
of both the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas board
of trustees and the Municipal Securities Rulemaking
Board. He also served on the board of directors for
the Student Loan Marketing Association, Sallie Mae,
in Washington, D.C.
He received his bachelor of science
and doctor of jurisprudence degrees from the University
of Texas at Austin.
Each Federal Reserve Bank has
a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent
commercial banks, three represent the public and three
are appointed by the Board of Governors in Washington,
D.C.
