Assistant Economist

Roberto Coronado is an assistant
economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in Houston.
His research at the Fed focuses on issues pertaining
to the Mexican economy, the maquiladora industry, and
the U.S.–Mexico border economy. Coronado has written
articles for various Federal Reserve publications and
academic journals such as Annals of Regional Science,
Southern Economic Journal, International Business and
Economics Research Journal, and Investigación
Económica. Coronado also co-directs the
Network of Border Economics (NOBE/REF), a network of
researchers aimed at studying the border economy.
Prior to joining the Dallas
Fed, Coronado was a research economist at Deloitte &
Touche and the University of Texas at El Paso. Coronado
holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting
and a master of science degree in economics—both
from the University of Texas at El Paso.
