Dallas Fed announces executive promotions at Houston Branch

For immediate release: January 5, 2016

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has announced the following promotions at the Houston Branch:

—Jason Ritchie has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Bank Administration Department.

Previously, he served as operations officer with responsibility over the computerized maintenance management system across all 12 Federal Reserve districts. He also holds supervisory responsibilities for the operational budget and IT projects of Houston. Prior to joining the Bank in 2001, Ritchie worked at NASA for three years managing software assurance issues for the International Space Station.

Ritchie serves on the Greater Houston Partnership Cybersecurity Task Force, representing financial services, through which he collaborates and speaks on the improvement of cybersecurity health of Houston businesses and citizens. He is also a member of the Texas A&M Commercial Banking Program board of directors.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M University.

—Paul Wheeler has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Banking Supervision Department.

Wheeler will have responsibility for safety and soundness supervision at the Houston Branch, as well as supervision of foreign banking organizations throughout the Eleventh District.

Previously, Wheeler served as examining officer. Prior to joining the Bank in 1993, he worked as an internal auditor for a large commercial bank. He also is a member of the advisory board for the Commercial Banking Track and Certificate program in the Bauer College of Business, University of Houston.

Wheeler holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the University of Houston. Additionally, he completed the Graduate School of Banking program at the University of Colorado.He is also a certified financial services auditor.
