Estrada Re-Elected to Dallas Fed Board

DALLAS—Robert A. Estrada has been re-elected by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ member banks to the Dallas Fed’s board of directors.  He will serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2008.

Estrada was first elected to the board in 2005.

He is chairman of Estrada Hinojosa & Company Inc., a Dallas-based investment banking firm he co-founded in 1992.  Estrada Hinojosa also has offices in Houston, San Antonio, Miami and San Diego.

Estrada serves on the University of Texas System board of regents and is an executive committee member of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce board of directors.  In 1989 and 2005, Hispanic Business magazine named Estrada among the 100 most influential Hispanics in America.

Estrada served as special assistant to former President George H.W. Bush and as state director for the late U.S. Sen. John Tower.  He is past chairman of both the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas board of trustees and the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.  He also served on the board of directors for the Student Loan Marketing Association, Sallie Mae, in Washington, D.C.

He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

Each Federal Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors.  Three members represent commercial banks, three represent the public and three are appointed by the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
