Chang Elected Chairman
Pro Tem of Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch Board
DALLAS—The board of directors
of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas' Houston Branch
has elected Nancy T. Chang chairman pro tem for 2006.
Chang was appointed to the Houston
Branch board in 2005 by the Federal Reserve Board of
Governors. She is co-founder and chairman of the board
of Houston-based Tanox Inc., a biopharmaceutical company.
She serves on the boards of directors
for the Greater Houston Partnership and Center for Houston’s
Future. She also serves on advisory councils for Stanford
Bio-X/Bioengineering, Institute of Bioscience and Technology,
and Center for Strategic and International Studies Council
on Biotechnology Research, Innovation and Public Policy.
Chang received a Ph.D. from Harvard
University and a bachelor’s degree from National
Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. She also attended graduate
school at Brown University.
The Houston Branch board of directors
consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas
Fed board of directors and three by the Federal Reserve
Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
