Chang Appointed to Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch Board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has appointed Nancy T. Chang, Ph.D., to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Houston Branch for a term ending Dec. 31, 2006.

Chang is co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Houston-based Tanox, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. She serves on the board of directors for the Greater Houston Partnership and the Center for Houston’s Future. She served on the Biotechnology Industry Organization from 2001 to 2004.

She also serves on advisory councils for Stanford Bio-X/Bioengineering; Institute of Bioscience and Technology; and Center for Strategic and International Studies Council on Biotechnology Research, Innovation and Public Policy.

Chang received a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. She also attended graduate school at Brown University.

She has received the 2004 Chinese Bioscientist Association Brilliant Achievement Award, 2003 YWCA Outstanding Woman of the Year in Science, Medicine and Technology award and the 2002 National Tsing Hua University Outstanding Alumni Award.

The Houston Branch board of directors consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board of directors and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington D.C.
