Ben Bernanke Would Like to Have a Word with You: Conversation with the Chairman

This town hall event offered educators across the country the opportunity to hear from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
Chairman Bernanke addressed educators nationwide via videoconference on August 7, 2012. His special live message focused on the critical need for personal finance education in the wake of the recent financial crisis. After his remarks, Bernanke will took questions from educators who gathered at sites across the country.

Congratulations to Two Eleventh District Winners
Teachers Sharon Cole from Round Rock Independent School District and Elicia Vernon from Northeast Independent School District won the trip to Washington, D.C., to attend “Ben Bernanke Would Like to Have a Word with You: Conversation with the Chairman,” which was held at the Board of Governors. Sharon teaches economics at Stony Point High School near Austin, and Elicia teaches economics at James Madison High School in San Antonio.
All teachers who registered by July 15 for “Conversation with the Chairman” were eligible. Their names were put in a hat, and Sharon’s and Elicia’s names were the lucky ones drawn.
They were joined by teachers from the New York, Philadelphia, Richmond, Atlanta, Chicago and St. Louis Feds.
