World Go Round: The Role of the Federal Reserve

Topics will address the history and evolution of money,
key facets of the Federal Reserve System’s purpose
and functions, inflation, interest rates, and how
conducting monetary policy has changed through the
years. Attendees will also learn about inflation targeting
as well as globalization’s impact on monetary
policy.
- Global Economic Forum
San Antonio, Texas
June 28 – 29, 2007
This two-day event will address the current
status of globalization and its economic impact. One
of the forum's highlights is a videoconferencing collaboration
among the New York, Boston and Chicago Feds. Breakout
sessions on teaching international topics and ideas
for the classroom will be provided.

The Fed, the Economy and the Role of the Consumer

This workshop will focus on the importance of making
sound financial decisions.The role of the Fed as a
monetary authority and the impact of the Fed's decisions
on the U.S. economy and subsequently on the consumer

This workshop will address topics such as budgeting,
saving, investment and debt management as well as
personal financial lessons learned from natural disasters
such as Hurricane Katrina.
