On April 21, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will recognize the 2009 economic essay contest finalists with an awards luncheon and ceremony.

The 2009 topic was "Once Upon a Time... Finding Economics in Children's Stories." The top three essays from each of the four Eleventh District offices—Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio—were chosen as regional winners and advanced to the Dallas District finals.
